Structure of UQMind
UQMind is a branch of the University of Queensland Medical Society (UQMS). The UQMind Chair sits on the UQMS management committee. The two Vice-Chairs (Phase 1 and 2) work alongside the Chair to facilitate events, campaigns and initiatives for the coming year. Under each Vice-Chair are the portfolio-specific convenors who oversee and manage particular events.
How to Get Involved
If you are passionate about mental health and wellbeing, and are keen to contribute to the discussion around mental health of medical students and junior doctors, please get in touch with us via Facebook or email. We would love to have you on board and welcome you to the team! We currently have several positions available for the UQMind 2019 team - the nomination period is from 11th February to 5th March; position holders will be announced at the Ordinary General Meeting on 21st March. All positions announced at the OGM will be elected. UQMind is a great way to get involved and an awesome way to help you expand your skillset. No experience is needed; first-year students are very welcome to apply.

The minds behind UQMind
The UQMind Chair sits on the UQ Medical Society (UQMS) management committee, as the advocate and representative for medical student mental health and wellbeing. The Chair also liases with external mental health organisations, such as DHASQ.
Our engagement team are in charge of our social media and outreach projects - including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and Minds of Medicine Campaign. Our engagement team can be as creative as they want, helping to create a stronger online UQMind presence.
Blue Week Convenor
Our Blue Week team is dedicated to providing an awesome Blue Week in Semester 2! This includes our Symposium, Wellbeing Festival (held in conjunction with the affiliates), and other activities dedicated to promoting mental health and wellbeing. Position Description found here.

The Phase 1 Vice-Chair coordinates and assists with all activities aimed at Phase 1 students - including coffee mornings, Blue Week, symposium, and social media.

The UQMind Symposium is the highlight of Blue Week (and often the highlight of the year)! This event is our chance to get serious about medical student mental health and wellbeing, and discuss the pressing and pertinent issues surrounding the area. Position Description found here.

The Phase 2 Vice-Chair coordinates and assists with all activities aimed at Phase 2 students - including coffee mornings, Death Cafes, MiS Buddy Program and our Book Club.
Events Convenor (Rural & Remote)
Our Events team is focused on implementing and delivering events for students who are based at rural clinical schools! This includes coffee mornings, Death Cafes, Book Club, and the MiS buddy program.
Morning Tea Convenor
Coffee Mornings are UQMind's signature event! These events aim to raise awareness and facilitate discussion about medical student mental health and wellbeing. These are held regularly at metro sites as well as at each rural clinical school, with the assistance of UQMS RCS reps and TROHPIQ. Position description found here.

Our Events team is focused on implementing and helping to deliver events for students located at metropolitan clinical sites! This includes coffee mornings, Death Cafes, Book Club, and assisting in the running of Blue Week. Position Description found here.
